Microwave Therapy for Skin
Designed and developed by microwave experts, Emblation, the Swift system is pioneering the treatment of skin by effectively treating skin lesions, without requiring the affected area to be destroyed.
Swift delivers a precise, highly controlled energy dose to a pre-determined depth into the skin. As soon as the treatment begins, microwaves are working within that defined field – and no deeper. Water molecules within the tissue begin colliding and creating localised heat energy – quickly treating all infected tissue within that area.

Benign HPV skin lesions
An independent study was conducted on 32 patients suffering from recalcitrant plantar warts. 76% of patients experienced complete resolution, with 94% of which requiring 3 treatments or less. Patients involved in the research also reported significant reductions in pain caused by the lesion after each treatment.
The Swift 2019 Post Market Surveillance identified that 78% of 9,000 plantar wart patients experienced complete resolution with Swift Microwave Therapy.

Actinic Keratosis
An 11 patient trial was carried out by the University of Dundee to evaluate the efficacy and feasibility of microwaves as a treatment for AK. 90% of treated AKs resolved 120 days post treatment, with 78% resolving after one week.
The success of the feasibility trial has led to investment being made by Emblation to carry out a Randomised Control Trial (RCT), which will take place in 2022.
